I want to be the person who teaches kids about periods and sex.

Oh, how you speak to my soul in this entry. It was totally gnarly and quite bitchen'. And I too, like, totally thought Rick Springfield was like, so, like totally like, hot. Totally.

"Move Bitch, Get Out Da Way" is already a song by Ludacris. Its nice to see another child of the 80's hanging around. From hair bands to british POP the 80's ruled! They were like totally awesomeand rad! I just had a blast living through the 80's. Now excuse me while me while I go curl up with Kajagoogoo... you're to shy-y, hush-hush ido-i.

Actually, Bonzo used to rather like leaving his, um, mark in all manner of objects and in all manner of locations, I gather. I've read (in someone's auto/biography, although whose eludes me right now) that he'd sometimes eat his own shit, too. You know, to impress people. Of course. And Rick? Well, I kind of went right off him after he beat up his wife. I don't care how handsome (or Australian) he is; like, gag me with a spoon...

I remember that coke and pop rocks rumour! I was so scared by it that for a time I would only eat pop rocks one at a time in case that it was a too many at once factor that had done it!

until the last two years of the 80s i was severely out of the loop when it came to music, but thanks to my grandma, i had a bottomless stack of seventeen, teen, ym, and jane magazines around. i went to catholic school and had to wear uniforms and i swear to this day that if it hadn't been for those magazines, i'd probably still think plaid just goes with everything. on a sadder note, i made the mistake of joking about swatches with a younger co-worker the other day "They'll be back in style any day now, and I'll be ready!" I said). Her response: "What's a swatch?" 8|

I, too, was sucked in to watching the 100 most metal not only last night, but the night before as well. Stupid VH1 - they even have me looking forward to I Love the 90's!

Are you there god it's me margaret- my mom bought me that book. it made me kinda uncomfortable at the time, but I read it about 5 times. I also read Looking for mr. goodbar, forever amber, our bodies ourselves, one flew over the cookoo's nest, Fanny, the belljar, and all things Margaret Atwood shortly thereafter. They were just sitting there on Mom's bookshelf, so I read 'em. slightly screwed up kid as a result. Thanks for the walk down memory lane, oh, and gag me with a spoon!

Pop Swatch! Those things were so cool. My friend used to wear hers on the collar of her school uniform. (Yes, in Oz we *all* wear school uniforms. Well, except a few lucky hippy communes where shoes are also frowned upon.) I was pretty young in the '80s, but I remember in first grade I had a Barbie and the Rockers suitcase for school. And I thought it was the coolest thing EVER.

Some good memories and some things that will cause nightmares for many weeks. Did you see the stuff about sheep slaughter on stage? And why did I watch the whole thing? There had to be subliminal messages there. "Watch VH1 all night and waste the weekend. And buy a WASP album." I wanna be somebody, be somebody...
