I overpaid a bill by $200 by mistake in the middle of a move and it took them nearly a year to return the amount to me. I had all but forgotten about it when it showed up in the checking account. I haven't had the same problems with Bellsouth, SBC, SNET, etc, but try to get someone on the phone at these kinds of companies that can actually answer your question. I dare you.
